How very fitting that this dazzling, star studded, music feast is the first production at the now equally dazzling Alexandra. Fresh from a huge makeover that brings her bang up to date. This show has over 60 songs and you will know each and every one. I was not alone, the entire auditorium was encouraged to sing, clap along and enjoy one the best shows I remember. Motown The Musical is a big night out, the tunes just keep coming at you, with barely time to take a breathe the next song is there, this is high energy and highly entertaining. Lots and lots of costumes changes, Motown The Musical made me laugh and cry but mostly I felt happy. Choreography by Patricia Wilcox and Warren Adams was perfect. The addition of a live band, now I say band, I would have said orchestra, but my program credits a band.
