Read all of my Monday Hour One posts here. It is a time management technique where you spend an hour on the first day of your workweek planning your week ahead. You would come up with a list of items you want to work on or achieve that week and fit them into your calendar. After listening to the podcast, I googled a little more and found this blog post by Tiffany Goyer explaining the process of the Monday Hour One technique in further detail. The Monday Hour One technique is intriguing to me as I will be able to hold myself accountable whenever I am not on track or when I waste my time away watching Netflix or scrolling on my phone. That is, until I found out about and eventually implemented Monday Hour One , a system introduced to me during my life coach certification program. It takes into account your thoughts, feelings, actions, and results; not just your actions, like many other systems. All of that high-impact, important work that you know will move the needle, but never seems to get done? Space for your self-care routine of choice, like morning pages, meditation, a nap, or a walk? The feeling of not being fully on but also not being fully off, like as one of my clients said a light switch turned to dim, not providing much light, but still draining energy? Have you downloaded the guide for how to get into a deep work state in 15 minutes? Go grab it, then head back here. Prepare to feel completely overwhelmed halfway through the Monday Hour One process.
Monday Hour One will be the best hour you spend each week. You may even start to look forward to it because of how amazing you feel afterwards. And a to do list often becomes an endless list of tasks you keep putting off and feel terrible about. This course will teach you that your calendar is for more than just your appointments, and your to do list is no longer necessary. Do you wish you had more hours in a day? Are you always busy? Do you feel overwhelmed all the time? We used to. Now we get more done in 40 hours a week than most people do in a month. No optimized to do list.
